New roofs & re-roofing in Camberley

A new roof, built the way it should be.

When the slates or tiles are failing across the whole roof, or the felt underneath has perished, patching stops making sense. A re-roof sorts it once: everything comes off, the timbers are checked and repaired, and the roof is built back up with a new breathable membrane, treated battens and new tiles or slates.

We fit dry-fix ridge and hip systems, so there's no mortar to wash out, and we redo the flashings, valleys and vents while the roof is open. If you're adding roof windows or insulation, now's the time, and as roofers and carpenters we can do the timber work too.

How long does a re-roof take?

A typical semi or bungalow takes around one to two weeks once the scaffold is up, depending on size, weather and any timber repairs. We'll give you a realistic timescale with your quote.

Will my house be open to the weather?

No. We strip and re-felt in sections and sheet the roof at the end of each day, so the house stays watertight while we work.

Tile or slate, which is better?

Both last well when they're fitted properly. Clay plain tiles suit many older Surrey and Hampshire houses, slate suits others, and concrete tiles are the most affordable. We'll tell you what suits your house and what you're allowed to use if you're in a conservation area.

Do I need planning permission for a new roof?

Not usually, if you're replacing like for like. If you're changing the look, are in a conservation area or the building is listed, check with your local council first (Surrey Heath for Camberley) and we'll help with what they ask for.
